This was one of those scenes that begs the need to use impressionism to be expressed. There is a lot of complexity and depth to the theme with a challenging backdrop. The water in the foreground, the glare of the lights, the rainy sensation and the misty blurriness of the background were some of the key aspects to painting. I used Galleria acrylics on a 12x16 inch canvas. The undercoat was entirely done using a palette knife and the painting was finish with a brush for the finer details.
